you think toronto is safe? think again
I'm from downtown toronto and many people have this impression, ohh nice city and so clean etc. Now this is what I have to say about our "fair city"
this is just digusting at so many levels.
last summer a girl named holly jones was abducted, later they found parts of her body. they found this man a computer programmer named Michael Briere guilty of her homicide and on top of that, he raped her and killed her within 40 minutes AND ADMITTED ALL this
article from our newspaper, toronto star:
http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/Con...l=968793972154
this story was on america's most wanted.
just a few months after, a chinese girl cecilia zhang was abducted in oct 2003 and they found her body in march in a secluded area. so 2 in the same freakin year. her story too was on america's most wanted.
many people have this idea that toronto is a good city, trust me it is getting pretty bad with these child abductions and teen gangs.
just a few months ago over 50 of our cop force was corrupt and is currently under loads of investigation
we are NOT the city we used to be

When I flew to Toronto Airport a couple months back to see a friend, I was really excited to see what Ontario was like. I had never been outside the USA before, I just wanted to see how it compaired to the US.
There are only two things that I have to complain about when I visited there:
Drivers: man, compaired to the US, where me and my friend were driving, people were going out of the lines, beeping every chance they could. We got cut off so many times that I lost count. Compaired to Virginia (where I live) it was a nut house.
Litter Problem: Just mainly on the freeways and regular roads there was so much trash, I couldn't believe it. Couldnt even see the ground, just trash littered on top. Piles of snow with a ton of trash in them as well. I dont know if they have clean up crews in Ontario, if they do they need to do a better job, it was just discusting.
Other then that though, Ontario, and expecially Toronto was beautiful. Went in the CN tower, that was amazing. We couldn't go all the way up though because of high winds But it was still breath taking.
I'd go back in a heart beat.

I agree with that, I think the sniper shootings take the cake. Actually we just recently had some suit cases turn up I think in the Ches. Bay that had a bunch of body parts in em. So dont think that murders like that dont just happen in Toronto.
Every state/country has their nut cases.

but 2 child abductions ended in death is quite uncommon and in the same year... thats why i posted this because the killer of the girl holly jones admitted yesterday.
newspaper headline: ROT IN HELL. no joke, this same paper on 9/11 put BASTARDS! and a picture of the WTC

toronto sun, they are more like a tabloid. they were a tabloid which turned newspaper. its more dumbed down, more inaccurate news and likes the ads and porn hotline ads in there. there is always a sunshine girl every day i think which is some hottie on the first page and little info on her. some are like friends of friends sometimes! theres also a sunshine boy but its not as advertised u can say, my former barber was sunshine boy 2 times guy is mad built. but thats off topic
but yea toronto has been pretty pissed off about the murders and lotta ppl think the punishment is too light on him. canada doesnt have a death penalty.

Toronto~
Yeah, I know T.O isn't a safe city. Lots of crazy things happened. I think the Sun really sucks in any city.. Their writing is absolutely targetted for the people who barely passed grade 10 English. I think Ottawa is a nice place though.. We've had some problems here and there, but nothing "major". Then again Ottawa isn't the size of Toronto. More people is directly proportional to more trouble

i live in williamsburg right now, but i used to live in Richmond, during the hieght of their murder rate... back when it was the highest per capita in north america.
i don't think that toronto is any worse than pretty much any city its size.
