BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Police say that a California teen and his half-sister killed their mother because she wouldn't let the girl go to a party.

Bakersfield police say the 17-year-old boy and 12-year-old girl allegedly smashed their mother in the head with a frying pan, then strangled her with an extension cord last Friday.

The woman's body was found Monday stuffed in an outdoor storage closet, after the woman's sister reported her missing.

The girl was arrested at the family home. The boy was arrested when he was found driving his mother's car.

Man what is happening to todays society. This is sick. I hope there was other motives for the killing (such as abuse). If not, this is just horrible.

Its hard to say whether it was the parent that was at fault or the children ... I mean... the way some parents are.... some kids would just have to do that.... (but I have a feeling that these children were just evil )
