Default Post Hurray for me!

I finally got off me lazy bullocks yesterday and ran a cat5 cable to my son's room and hooked his box up to our network. Then I got a couple of 3 copies of winproxy 1.4 (I know there's newer versions...I like the older one better, bugger off! ) installed and set-up, and am now writing this on Bubbles whilst the wife cruises the news on Blue and Maddy and Justin (son & daughter, for those who haven't been following my saga.) are on Boomer (Hey, Justin named his own box....I didn't have nothing to do with it.) playing around on PlayhouseDisney.com and totally enchanted. I've set up his IE so that he can only access nickjr.com & playhousedisney.com, but he seems exceedingly happy with it.

I've been dreading it and putting it off for a long while now...networking can make my brain hurt at times...but it's all up and in and running better than I hoped it would.

Yeah, I know...big whooped-dee-doo, you got your son's pc tied into your network. Well, for me it is a big whooped-dee-doo and for me son and daughter it's doubly so. Just had to share the happy, warm, geeky feeling with my pals.

Default Post You would have to ask that.

My puppy-girl Beanie isn't going out as much as she used to, age & obesity have combined to slow her down quite a bit and the stairs cause her much difficulty...she much prefers just pissing on the hallway carpeting when she thinks no one is looking since she know she can get away with it. (I'm the one who steam-cleans the hall everyday, before you even ask. )

Default Post A warning...

DW,

That's great that you have everyone online now, but beware- be sure to be a "mean" parent occasionally and force the kids to go outside and play with other kids in the sunshine! My son (the youngest of 2 kids, now 20) developed a pretty serious addiction to being on the Internet all of the time, and would only make new friends online. There's nothing wrong with spending time online and making friends in the cyber world [witness ME posting here! ] but a kid needs interactions in the outside world too... Yours are young, so you can strike the right balance with them...

ya i was at one point affected with that problem hell man just think about it. Its so much more easier to pretead what you want on the new then to take in the real world. And then if someone pisses you off on the messengar or chat room you just ingore or block them. I relized a few years back thats no way to live you life though. So dw make sure they get plenty of interaction with the real world.
