Default Post Cable Company Workers Cut Cable

Here in Quebec, Canada the main company that provides cable television and the cable internet has had some big problems. The Workers at Videotron have been on strike now for roughly 3 months maybe more, and there seems to be no end in sight. 3 days ago 10 employees who were on strike decided to cut fiber-optic wires that supplies the cable to millions of people arounf Québec, my guess for their reason of doing so is as a pressure tactic to get videotron to give them the 15% they are asking for. The cutting of these cables has made 750 000 people have no cable for the past three days with most of it beign restored today. Even though videotron has offered to compensate, with a refund, for the days that people were missing cable, people are frustrated because Videotron has the money to give these workers a raise, butonly want to give 10% when the employees are demanding 15%.

I say that both sides should grow up.

Lets do a vote on what you guys think.

I think its ridiculous for workers to go on strike. I don't like the idea one bit. If you want to whine about your pay, there are other jobs out there. GET ONE! If those people can't get other jobs, then why should their employer raise their pay if that's all they're qualified for? Its the owners decision to decide what goes on with the company. The workers are free to leave whenever they want. If the workers were impatient enough to vandalize the property of the cable company, then I say they should be charged with vandalism and should be fired!! They have to realize that the company doesn't "need" them. There are other more thankful people out there in the world. People should learn to get by with what they have or else, they should find a way to get more. Whining isn't an option .

They estimate that they have lost over 70 000 people since the strikes (at least 10 000 probably was lost during the moving period).

I kinda agree with ya dallasstar, because yes when you work for a company without an education don't expect to get paid a whole lot. Also after working for a company for 10 years and there hasn't been a raise in 15 years it kind of gets annoying. Especially when the company can afford to give everyone a 25% raise. Also they are trying to find those who vandalized the equipment and they will be hit with a jail sentence, I think after this people are gonna start to wise up I think a deal may come soon but everyone says there is no deal insight. Man I confuse myself in my writing!
