I get more than that with Optimum Online. Though its a nice increase from the norm i'd say.

Crash Override is an unknown quantity at this point

*sighs* for now Im stuck with crappy 768/96 with an ISP that has now become flaky in the local area.

To add insult to injury we were lied to by the rep who sold us the DSL line here in town.

She told us that they were having a promotion where when you use it for 3 months they give you a 100 dollar credit at the end of that time.

Come to find out that they put 35 of it on your bill the first 2 months and 30 on it the last month, but if you drop the DSL you have to pay them that money back. I really preferred the way we were sold it compared to this, since I really wanted to switch back to charter seeing how their connection isnt really as flaky as this one is

Not to mention its a 2Mb/128k up connection for the same price ($40 a month)

But since we were lied to we are stuck with it until like May 10th

They did double my speed a few months ago, but guess what happened. They put it back to its regular speed again .

3 MBit?

Yeah a lot of companies are doing that. One company starts doing it around here in Canada, Rogers (Shaw) and then everybody follows. Competition is great.

Did they give you any reason?

I know Comcast sent out notices that the initial increase was experimental. In that they did say that there was a possibility that the speeds could be reverted to the previous setting. However, in December they made the increase permanent. ("Permanent" is a relative term with these companies, mind you. )
