he's got similare speeds as me..
i can usually pull in 20-40ms pings on realitive close.... but as soon as i get into the states... it slows right down due to the states and eastern canada's routering problems
BTW.... 10mb/s down and up here.. hopefully to double sometime REAL soon....
(although.... for some odd reason... my provider seems to start to cut my upload bandwidth when they realize i'm providing a game server.... )

What routing problems? Does the US have problematic networks?

i find that as soon as i get into the states or to the eastern side of canada... that my ping times and whatnot skyrocket.... This site itself produces a nice ping.... usually 30ms.... however.. along the way it's pretty terrible... i get get transfered around about 15 times along the way before i actually get to the site... if along that path... theres a problem.... i lose bandwidth/ping..... and at worst... wouldn't be able to connect if i was rerouted around.. which tends to be longer....... ... i just find them Conjested.. full... overloaded....

lol- yeah, I was gonna say 2.7mbs (as in megabit), when I said " I'm very lucky to get 2700mbs down, but my 260mbs", I did mean 2700kb/s, 260 kb/s (kilo bits/ second).
But it the screenshot and when I said 2 mega-bytes, I was getting 2MB or more a second, as in downloading a 600MB CD sized file in 5 minutes. It was like that for quite a while...
I think 2MB/second is like a 16 megabit conection. Then it all ended.

That's fast, but it looks like 4.02Mbs (or 4.02 mega bits a second) which is 0.5025 MB/sec (or 1/2 MB a second)- or downloading a 600MB CD in about 20 minutes- still very fast. I'd like a 4 magabit connection, mine is capped at 260/3000 now, to upgrade to 500/4000 would be about 80 dollars a month for me, not an option at all.

has somethig to do with my old modem their cap not being effective on it (no uncapping involved) and i live next door to my isp lol
