i have a 32 mb riva tnt 2 m64 display card

however windows xp shows only 16 mb in the display properties dialog box

why the ram size shown is 1/2

Are you sure it's a 32 mb card? You might just have the wrong BIOS or crappy drivers for your card.

I have a feeling somebody's been overclocking his ram without ramsinks for a bit too long

on the same note i have the same card (32mb) works great with all my games intill i install the drivers for the card. Right now its running on windows drivers i wanna use the drivers but when i do in most games the screen goes black. Is it cause i need to uninstall the XP drivers first? then install the Nvidia drives?

could someone tell me the way by which i can determine the exact size of my video card
ram (even though my dealer may have overclocked it in the bios to dupe me)

with my card when u frist turn the comp on it shows the video card BIOS does that show up when u power on? if u look it will tell u the size of the ram.
