It could be the ac3 (dolby digital) codec. Download the K-lite codeck pack and install it. You can find it here: http://doa2.host.sk/codecs/

i tryed a codec called" ffdshow" or something like that and the sound worked...but no visual
the wmp9 little slider thingie didnt even move and when i put it to say the middle of the file it just stayed on a still screen of the avi..but continued the sound from that point

i will try your link wertret

Crash Override is an unknown quantity at this point

be careful with k-lite codec pack

sometimes it messes up settings pretty bad

it got to a point where I couldnt get into any folders with avis with it crashing explorer

setup a fresh install of teh OS installed k-lite codec pack and the same thing

setup windows one last time with an independant AC-3 and Divx 5.1.1 install and poof no issues and all my files playback just fine

Dallas are you talking about the link I posted?

If so its been a fav of mine for a while

hopefully on the new site Im putting up I will get a good forum system in place and will have one area for crew posting only where we can put links to sites that contain worthwhile items and necessary things so we can stem posts for certain things
