HOLDENVILLE, Oklahoma (AP) -- A woman who had convinced her husband she was pregnant -- and was even thrown a baby shower -- killed a pregnant acquaintance and cut the fetus from her womb, authorities said Monday.

For her to do something like that she is definitely sick and disturbed. Leaving me to doubt she has remorse, which means jail will only waste tax money. Just shoot her in the head like she did to the other woman, save us all the trouble.

Even if she was sent to prison she probably wouldn't last long. Even most of the stupid criminals in prison know better than to kill/abuse children, and they don't take kindly to people who do- they usually "take matters into their own hands" when it comes to child abusers/killers.

Could anybody explain to me why the hell this country is the killer capital of the world. I was born in Europe the murder rate there compare to US is virtuall non-existent. Are we just a country full of psychos no wonder half the world thinks that we are buncha uneducated rednecks with our teeth knocked out. Whenever I read stuff like that thats when I think this country is going straight to hell.

The violent crime rate is higher in many European counties than it is in the US. Not sure about the actual murder rate, and another thing is that you are dealing with the REPORTED rates, not the actual rates. Don't believe everything statistic you hear, I sure don't.

Unfortunately there are more and more scumbags out there that are cowards and would rather kill someone than deal with their problems like adults. The fact that religion and morals are frowned upon in our country (same as rest of world) and honesty and hard work is thought of as being "square" by more and more people doesn't help the situation either. Bottom line is that a lack of morals and values and the fact that there are so many kids being raised without a father (huge problem) and no respect for themselves or anyone else leads to more violence in our society. I'm not saying that people without both parents are always messed up- most turn out great. I'm just saying that a rebellious kid w/o a father that never gets enough discipline has a lot harder time growing up and will more likely fall in with gangs, etc.., and will probably get into more trouble. Therefore more violent crimes and murders. It's too bad. Who knows what was wrong with the nut-case in the above story, but she will probably be free in a few years from the insanity defense, like the guy who shot Regan can walk around free. Gee, I wonder why people think they can get away with murder.

Yes, in some European countries the violence is lower than in the U.S...but other countries have some sick criminality, like some of the former Soviet states where the villains basically rules their countries, and the politicians are either to corrupted or to afraid to do anything about it...it's just soo sad..

I'm not sure about you but I'd rather decide if I wanted to die than be killed by someone who has no right to decide if i should be alowed to live.
