A public enquiry has revealed that 'Doctor Death' Harold Shipman has joined the ranks of the world's worst serial killers having murdered at least 215 of his patients with morphine injections. The enquiry found that Shipman killed quietly, coldly, and systematically over a period of 23 years averaging a murder a month. He is strongly suspected of at least another 45 murders but there was insufficient evidence. The murder of a former Mayoress's daughter resulted in his capture when her daughter challenged a new will that left all the womans wealth to the doctor. The body of 81 year old Kathleen Grundy was exhumed and traces of Morphine wre found. This led to several more exhumations resulting in his trial and conviction two and a half years ago for the murder of fifteen women but the full extent of his crimes is only now apparent.
Families are now wondering how Shipman killed so prolifically and for so long without attracting suspicion, a fact the British Medical Association blamed on a "tragic system failure'"which is a medical term for "complete and total fuck up!"
"We can assure the public that something of this magnitude will not happen again" said the chairman of the BMA.
Shipman has avoided further prosecutions because of the impossibility of finding an English jury unaware of his previous history.
Reassuringly (not!) the BMA has now put in place new procedures to ensure that this cannot happen again. Probably by keeping an eye on the obituary columns!
