UT2K3 Server Shutdown... (Temporarly)

Could someone post this on the front page... please? :

I've currently have had to take shut the server down do to someone strange weather conditions.

Power is fluctuating and is unreliable. Although the server and networking devices need to keep it and the internet going are all on good backup units and fully surge protected, I can't take the chance... and i don't want people getting incredibly annoyed with the ping times. Every so ofter... People ping times will hit an extremely high number. This isn't my or the servers fault. My ISP doesn't have a solid connection with the weather conditions. It's to be expected. Really, nobodies fault.

I'm extremely sorry for the inconvience. I hope to be back to report and to have the server up and running within 10-12 hours.

BTW, the weather conditions are a little harsh. Icey sleet... blanketing the city. I can actually watch the power lines and whatnot sag from the ice collecting on them.

Hopefully this will all clear up soon.

I know how that's like, especially in the winter time

Ice Storm a few years back.

yeah, sucks bad....

And when you live in a Apt (like me) and the power goes out, well everything in the place is opperated by electric... No heater.... coffee... warm shower.... IT BLOWS!

heh... the server is up.... tad chili.... but i have a APC Backup unit.... supplies power to 6 things... be it 2 19" monitors... 1 17" and 3 PSU's all rated 350 watts... for about 190 minutes..... and 6 more plugins fully surged protected and conditioned.... man... do i EVER love APC.... i think anyone with a computer SHOULD have one of these... sure... don't need the big one.... but get the $79 (canadian) ones.... 3 backuped up and 3 surged.... for 19-40 minutes...
