They fixed...then broke...then fixed then broke the skin support again. When u use MMD3 there is no display for kbps, stereo, etc.
Last version it worked in was beta 2. Oh, well at least it's not as annoying as the mouse wheel scroll-volume thing.

I actually liked the ability to queue songs in Winamp 3, but it isn't in 5 unfortunately. Perhaps it is, and I've just missed it - oh well, it still plays the songs perfectly well

Ummm iTunes anyone?!
I switched.... I got so damn fed up with winamp, crazying... taking forever and agin to load.... Crappy skins...
(although the actual "play" features kicked ass, the rest of the player sucked)
I like simple.

...winamp.... i thought was simple..... 1-2 maybe 3 second wait time for winamp 3 MMD skinned with a pile of visualization packs..... It doesn't even take long to load on extremely slow machines...

no they aint, crossfading works just fine also does the skins thingy, well thats for rc8 dunno what u people are using I have to say I love it, is just as functional as winamp2 with the crossfading support of winamp3 and skins and the new global hotkeys are great ^^
not mentioning the opaque on focus/hover settings, and another features I dont remember now ohh yeah like SEH options for the visualisations

Winamp 5 RC8 using MMD3 skin the crossfade does not work and neither does it show the stereo/mono kbps khz. The last version where it did show them was beta 2. As for the crossfade, the last version it worked was Winamp 3 developer build #499.

strange, it works for me since beta2, it didnt work on beta1, not even the crossfade, but since beta 2 it works perfect, what output plugin are u using? u are supposed to use "Directsound output 2.8" for the crossfading to work, dunno bout the stereo/mono kbps or khz thing, cauze it works fine for me =/

My bad, you're right, it's just with the MMD3 skin. I tried the winamp modern and both the crossfade and the display work. I must say that's very strange. The good thing is I can turn on crossfade with the winamp modern skin and then switch to MMD3 and it stays on! Cool! But, they still messed up the display for MMD3. It did used to work on beta 2. Hopefully this is fixed in the next release.

Maybe if I uninstalled/deleted all winamp related files/settings and reinstalled that would fix it.

I know everyone hates Winamp 3, but I love it, and it works great with DFX sound enhancement. have they upgraded DFX to work with V5 yet?

Took those works right out of my mouth. I tried musicmatch, even the newest version, and I must say it really really sux. Maybe some concepts are copied but winamp takes it to the next level. It's like Test Drive vs. NFS:Underground. Some could say that NFS copied the underground thing in test drive but NFS is just sooooo much better.
