help me understand this graphic score
before I state the question I just want to make sure that who ever responds to this post, I am only asking about this test score and what it means. I know there are other tests (Onion, Aqua, ect.) but for the point of discussion I need to better understand the results, as me and another person are discussing this test and we can not come to any type of an agreement.
The test used is at PCPitStop, and it is only in regards to the score PCPitStop gives your graphics card, and the score number represents how many millions of pixels per second your card can deliver.
The person I am discussing this with creates msstyle themes, and one of his themes I installed, and then just for the heck of it went to PCPitStop and tested my system.
The graphics score while running his VS was 159 million pixels per second.
I then uninstalled his theme and installed a different them, and ran the same test at PCPitStop, and the graphics score was 231 million pixels per second.
I then sent the person who created the first VS and mentioned to him about the difference in the scores between the two VS's and asked him if he knew why his would score lower. he responded that he had no idea as to why.
My question is; first, can some one explain the million pixels per second score? does that mean that each time the graphics card needs to draw some thing, that it draws it at the rate of so many million pixels per second, or is that how many million pixels per second that the card is always refreshing with? or is it some thing else.
Next question: with a VS theme, are there certain colors used in the theme that would raise or lower the million pixels per second? would black score higher than say a chrome color if used predominantly in the VS theme?
thanks, your knowledge, thoughts and ideas are appreciated, as always

Are you talking Windows Themes?..... if so..... standard themes are very big...and not very small... (quality and detail)..... this impacts the score alot..... And the score is not always right on....as the smallest little hiccup in the test results in a fairly large difference....... also, this score is purely 2D based...... Do you happen to be running the test while in fullscreen mode or windowed?... this will alos effect it...... BTW, can you also link to the theme....

graphic/theme/score/link
Yes, Windows xp msstyle themes like Luna (some call these VS (Visual Styles)) and yes am running the test in full screen, both tests were run in full screen.
I just want to know why one theme scores a higher MP/S than another theme, and, is million pixels per second the fill rate, and how much difference would there be between the two themes in loading graphics, or in game play if one system will score 155 MP/S, and the other system scores 231 MP/S, or is the difference so insignificant that you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two systems running different themes.
heres the link to the Chrome4 theme that scored less, 159 MB/S

heres the link to the Tribute2 theme that scored higher, 231 MB/S (almost 30% more than other)
http://www.themexp.org/view_info.php?id=36620
most of these themes score higher (MP/S) than default WindowsXP themes
thanxz

ps
and yes I am aware that some themes (VS) are more intensive than others, more graphics and such, so therefore, bigger in size, requiring more resources to render.
and as to score, or testing, as with any test, if I want to see what the system can do, then I test it as tweaked down as I can get it. No themes, no background, no sounds, no screen saver, ect., ect.
so just want to know about the two different million pixels per second scores, each one's affect on graphics/games, or is there no affect, and is there any difference between black vs chrome as to it's impact on million pixels per second score.
I'm sure there is some corelation between how million pixels per second, and your monitor's resolution as to how quick your graphics card will "fill" with pixels what is requested of it by the user.
I don't know much in this area, so only guessing with what comes next. one theme scored 159 MB/S, and the other scored 231 MB/S. for sake of this, lets say I was playing a very intensive high end graphics game, one that required a fill rate of 231 million pixels per second. would the system with the theme that scored 159 MB/S be affected when trying to play this same game?
or loading a very large intensive graphics background, would the system with the theme that scored 159 take longer to load?

.....black is the easiest thing to rendere... dark colors and whatnot will improve your 2D MP/S.....as for you scoreing.... the only thing it'll change in games is 2D Ran games such as solitare or very generic arcade games like windows xp pinball..... try loading up one theme and going to a website that has alot of pictures/images on it and scroll through it..... then try the other theme.... and do the same thing..... your mp/s is directly related to how many FPS you'll get on your windows desktop......(usually)...
