arrow Recall of Texas Quarters

Hold on to your Texas quarters. They may become collector's items. The
United States Treasury has announced they are recalling the new Texas
quarters.

"We are recalling all of the new Texas quarters that were recently
issued," Treasury Undersecretary Russell Shackelford said in a press
conference Monday. "This comes in the wake of numerous reports to this agency that
the quarters will not work in parking meters, toll booths, vending
machines, pay phones, or other coin-operated devices."

"We believe the problem lies in a design flaw," said Shackelford. The
winning design for the Texas quarter was submitted by Texas A&M
student William Doutrieux. "Apparently, the duct tape holding the two
dimes and nickel together keeps jamming the coin-operated devices."

come to texas in july and see how long you last--lol--

I can hear it now--

"Oh wah!!! It's only 90 degrees right now (i said ONLY) and i think i'm in hell!!! How do they see 90 degrees as being a nice cool temperature."

Thats right... i know how you northerners think. At 80 degrees you're dead. i wear jeans and a long sleeve shirt at 105 degrees.

EDIT: seriously though... don't bug me about dying at 32 degrees fahrenheit when you can barely handle 80.

I think you guys are misinterpreting the context of the joke. It's not meant to be making fun of texans. It is meant to be making fun of "aggies" (people who go to Texas A&M). You see, here in texas, making fun of aggies is something that all longhorn fans do (University of Texas = longhorns). It has become so common that it's comparable to blonde jokes.

Hmm.. I live in Wi and my Wife is from Mn..... I must say it gets pretty darn hot here and if you think it only gets to 32 here in the north think again.... I remember about 6 years back it was 20 below zero. I have been in Mn when it was 30 below... and you think I melt at 105... try again... spent 3 weeks in New Mexico when it was 105-112 and I was back packing with my boy scout group.... It may get hot there and in Tx but the Humidity here in Wi is what will kill you. When it is 80 here and the dew point is 77+ it is much hotter then your 105..... So becareful before you decide that a little "warmth" will melt a northener.....

lol- try 32 BELOW zero w/ 8 feet of snow in 3 days-- your tears would freeze to your face when start crying because your foot fell off from frostbite.

Oh yeah-- it's 95 degrees up here in the summer too- w/ 100% humidity- and that sux just as bad.

Oh yeah? well Buffalo smells like a big nasty rotten garbage dump in the summertime- the dumb city politicians think its cold all year around and garbage laws in the summer are inadequate. Garbage in dumpsters all over the city sit there full of garbage w/ flies buzzing around them for weeks on end.. in 95 degree summer heat and stink up the entire city. Beat that for a tough place to live. (I don't live right in Buffalo, so it's not like that in the suburb I live in)

well when I was saying how hot and cold it was here I wasn't complaining... I like where I live and probably would never live anywhere else. Of coarse that is going to change in 3 years... going to be moving to Mn then but that is ok... it is alot like Wi to me....
