I just made it to the semi-finals for the Enemy Territory competition :D
I just logged on and played a round of ET on the servers for the competition with the ATi card giveaway for the prizes
It was a fun match and I got the most XP for my team
So semi-finals here I come (guess me vegging out all the time playing ET on the oasis maps helped eh?

Looks like I wont be in the finals however due to someone starting the match 2 minutes early today
They say you have until 1:10pm to login
I got down to my room at 1:06pm (just updated my clock with NIST in colorado at like noon) and the server kicked me and banned me while trying to connect
all because their goddamned server didnt get its time set properly it seems
got an email back basically saying server time is the time we go by NOT NIST.
So tell me why not list an approximate time then? instead of 1-1:10pm since obviously 1:08pm is the real cut off time

Actually crash.. About updating with NIST.... I find that Windows time is WAY more accurate than the NIST. When watching tv the windows time changes right around the time new shows come on. Seriously, go change your time right now with windows and NIST a few times. I guarentee the times will differ if you do it at the right times. I did it outta curiousity to find that NIST time was off. Too bad I can't remember which was faster than the other.

NIST is the National Institute for Standards and Time
Their clock IS the OFFICIAL clock that all Atomic Clocks are set off of
Also networks are never quite on time but they are close.
Still they should keep their server up and running
Got a second email from them stating it was my fault for not aligning my clock to match that of the server

Do what Americans do : sue them! ( a half joke in so many ways). But I really feel your pain, lord knows how many Tribes matches I've missed because my watch was off (too many to count!).

thats the odd thing though
my clock is perfectly synced every day at noon to the official world time server
so its my fault that they dont know how to properly sync a clock
the big response was to check the server before the match and line my clock up with it
Gee no thanks
This is the first time Ive ever had a real big rant about anything dealing with ATi
