Worst cold in a long time

Damn do I feel like I got run over by train. Since last night I've killed two DayQuil bottles, gone through three boxes of scotties tissues and have killed more halls than I care to count. But that ain't even enough, my nose has also been bleeding the whole freakin time. I wish no one has to go through this and please dress up fellas, the changing seasons is the best time to catch this crap. Well, wish you all well as I'm off to another CVS visit

Also my mom gives me this medicine when I get too sick since I can't go to the hospital. It's called "Contacts" check it out.

I recommend high dose vitamin C and zinc!

Zinc is another...but i would recommend C...as you can't overdose on it.... zinc...that's a different story...... i pump so many V C pills that it would be leathal if it were any other...

I think its amazing that with all the breakthroughs in technology and medicine there is still no all out instant cure for a cold. and its at the time when summer ends and the temperatures drop, the change in the climate that people seem to get some nasty colds.

This is a recipe my mum has which I think while not curing the cold always makes me feel better and tastes well !.

Get some freshly squeezed orange juice, hot water, mix it up in a glass (make sure to have a metal spoon in it to absorb the heat or the glass will break), then put in a spoonful or 2 of honey and mix with a little sugar to sweeten. the honey is good for the throat and the chest, and the orange helps with vitamin c.... not much of a technical cure but I dont like oding on tablets and pills.

.... i don't usually take anything when i'm sick..but if i have just a standard cold.... i just take plenty of Viatimin C..... that's all i need... sometimes if you catch yourself quick enough....you can be through a cold within 24 hours or less.... my family had a terrible cold.... and i was one of the last to recieve it and the first to get over it.... from the time i woke up to the time i had to go to bed..... was the complete duration of it.... the rest of the family went through it for a full week..... BTW, one reason the common cold isn't cureable is because of the millions of different variations of it.... and actually, haveing a cold is more healthy.... people who don't have colds end up in hostbitals or worse.......... because they have no amunity...

Thx for the tips guys. My mom made me some chamomile tea with honey and it worked great! I will try it with OJ at lunch time. Still feel like crap, but I can feel it letting off alittle. Thx again

I hate taking medicine of any kind! It always makes me feel so out-of-it and I can't stand that.

However, my doctor has advised me to take an aspirin a day because of a family history of heart ailments....mostly strokes.

I also take a daily multi-vitamin dose and have been for years.

When we get colds, my mom has always advised warm lemon and honey.

You can OD on Vitamin C if you've got a high amount of iron or are taking a supplement that gives you iron.

I guess I must be lucky becuase I just don't get sick, not even a cold or even sniffles when the weather is changing like it is now. I used to take a daily vitamin all throughout grade school, but that's sort of stopped since I've started college. I also drink a lot of milk, usually either skim or 1/2% or chocolate(hot). The few times I've had a cold or something else I've either: a: not really noticed, b: shot of Nyquil (I like sleep), c: shot of brandy (Dad's home cure for everything

There is clinical proof that it works. It's worth a try anyway.. Colds suck- maybe you should be glad you're getting yours out of the way now- Maybe you won't get it really bad when everyone else is dying from it on a few months.. (seems to happen every single year)

that information is refering to people that take it on a daily dose..... i'm only refering to pumping up the dose when your feeling a cold coming on or you have a cold....in this case..... it really doesn't matter cause it's a warzone inside..... V C only helps

Nice, sounds impressive. Wonder if I'd be able to find it around here though. But I only get sick when the weather changes. I can almost guarantee I'll get sick again when the weather starts getting hot again. Pretty weird lol.

Btw, thx for the link ^_^. Definitely something to keep in mind. Although I only take a single Centrum multi a day I dont think I'm overdoing it. They do warn on the package about iron and kids under 6 years of age though. Definitely dont want them taking it.

Yeah, you can get it anywhere- at Walmart or any herb shop.. I don't take it, but I don't get sick (knock on wood)-- no just kidding , when I start feeling a cold coming on, I'll take it- My parent's take a small daily dosage too-

It's worth a shot I guess, especially if you know when you "usually" get something. Makes me think I should go get some, I'm out right now..
