What Zardon Said
Why do people feel the need to dis other people's creative expresion. I like to see what people fell in any mental state whether it be visual or anything els. Let people express themsleves.
Art is a gift which humans posses and no other person should try to take that away from them. When they do, it's usually cause of jelousy and that does no-one any favours. Let the expressionists do their thing and learn fron them. Remember that one of those things that make us different from animals is our ability to express in an artform.

Well said! I have never understood the need that some people have to degrade people for their talents and successes, just because they feel insecure or may not have experienced the same results from their efforts.

Hehe, no. It is a combination of two sayings. Envy has been referred to as a a big green monster. And when people are obsessive about something, you say that they have a monkey on their back (this saying is most appropriate, though, I think, when referring to addiction).
So, then, someone who can't help but be critical has a big green monster on their back.

Lets not beat around the bush
sorry George...(presidential pun), But when we extend ourselves into forums and create and toil to bring forth what we consider a worthy contribution, our ego's are vulnerable.....I agree to be fair, we should respect each others feelings and observe courtesy...I believe we can all contribute something to each other as well as the forum...without us, this whole thing is moot....I don't think you can find a website quite like this one...so much talent, so much intelligence and patience....this site is truly unique and demands a higher level of esprit de corps..

doubt it
as with all forms of self expression it merely requires the focus and the desire...then in a tangible form it becomes art...I am sure you could come up with something johnybravo....

The main problem is.... finding out what seems to make you feel good...from doing it..... and if it appeals to you...who cares what other think... (enless your making it for em)

I have one hell of a time with that as well... i never think i've quite gotten it the way i wanted...but i've taught myself to do what i can..... somewhat set a limit.... and present what i've got done within that time.... (enless it's obvisously not finished)
Touch up's are the main cause of .... "it's not quite right.... just ..maybe..... a little something here.... there..now...wait... a little over here....."
You do that, and you'll find yourself stareing at something that hasn't changed enough to warrant the time you spent...
Or else, the oposite.... you've just spent all that time...making it worse....

My fault. Zardon posted a one post thread and closed it. I wanted to add my thoughts so posted up a new one to re-iterate his point.
I just feel that people should keep deconstructive critisism to themselves.

Well that's always a true statement, unless your in the FW or something.
Constructive criticism is only good when it is asked for anyway, even then it's a fine line. I hear ya. If we are talking about artwork or PhotoShop work- I say if you don't have anything good to say, just don't say anything. (not that if I don't say anything, I don't have anything good to say mind you- I'm just lazy )
I could be an art critic, as well as a number of other people on this forum could be. I have won a few awards/scholorships in my day- I have even been paid for my art work-
But to judge someone else is pointless- encouragement and praise is the only comments that should be made about someone elses hard work- I mean, no one here has to share anything at all- they volunteer it, and I just like looking at all of it. I don't even criticise anything I see here in my own mind, I always see the positive in stuff like that- and there are lots of positive things to see around here.

I see no fault in your intentions or this thread
If your refering to this thread On HV
I asked Zardon to post it for me...... those are my feelings as well
I am a moderator of this forum as well as HV ........ I will not see someones talent excluded from Heavenly Visions because of attitude or bias ..
Art is about creativity .. my palette involves music and words...
Still Art ....... Logla HV is one of my favorite forums ..... I want it to grow
