Gator on the system....even when saying NO!
Even when you answer NO! to the Gator prompt that comes up when viewing certain WEB sites and Forums, it STILL gets on your system!
I have YET to answer Yes to this annoying and troublesome app for over two years. YET, GMT.EXE was in my Startup Programs Menu and was being overlooked by AdAware and McAfee VirusScan. It also is not showing up in the ADD/REMOVE Programs option.
Anyone else as annoyed at this as I?

I use Norton Internet Security.......haven't had the problem since I started using it. The built in pop up blocker and firewall keep the script out. You could just change your security setting's in IE and keep it from happening as well.

I just run Mozilla Firebird and Spywareblaster. Firebird prevents the prompts; Spywarebalster prevents the installation of spyware.

Heck, often times, I never even get a prompt about it and it ends up on my system. Spybot takes care of it.

I just modify my Hosts in C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc (winxp and 2k) and point www.gator.com as 127.0.0.1 and gator.com 127.0.0.1
Now you will never be alowed to even go to that trashy site with this fix but I think I will manage. And Ad Aware blows, its the worst spyware scanner ever. Just use JV16 Powertools from www.jv16.org.
