ok guys... i am depressed again. I was wanting to goto quakecon2003 this whole last year and i can't go. My dad wont let me. Now my friends are tere and i am seriously depressed about not being able to be there because they are on msn messenger telling me about how cool it is... but will MY dad let me go? NO!

I understand your dissapointment..... BUt maybe your dad has some good reason why you can't go. I as a child had that happen with several things and now that I am a parent I can see why my parents did what they did....... Eh.....there are worse things to be depressed about..... Enjoy your teenage years..... pretty soon you will be out of school and in the real world where you don't get your summers off... unless you are a teacher...

god its even worse now.. i just talked to my friend and they are having a blast... and then there were 3 (nVidia) Build a PC competition that i could have won... man i am so pissed at my dad right now...

GS I don't mean this in a bad way but I laughed my arse off when I read this post of yours. No, it is not funny that you did not get to go but the irony of it. Let me tell you to just enjoy the feeling of this being your big problem ATM. When you get older and on your own you will see how trivial this was and laugh at it like I did. Enjoy these times GS they are special. Never lose sight of the big picture in life and always have a laugh a day. Okay sermon over, can I get an AMEN?

Teaching is definitely not for lazy people. I have two friends that are going to college for them, and just to get into the Master's program is very hard. Besides Teachers have to do a lot of planning, and yes they do have their summer's off but they also normally have secondary jobs as well to cover these times.

Have your friends won anything? Besides just think you can go next year and win a copy of Quake 4 before anyone else has it.
