Bob Hope dies at 100

Bob Hope has passed away at age 100. Read Here . While he was somewhat before my time I still will always remember him for helping out the boys during times of war. Sad to see the icons of the past fading away. Funny to see some of the hilarious stuff he done during the golden days of black and white TV. My prayers and thoughts are with him and his family.

Being one of the 'old timers' around here, I can say I saw a lot of Bob Hope while growing up. His movies, his appearances on TV, as well as films of his many trips abroad to entertain troops.

Truly, an era has passed now. The members of that generation: George Burns, Lucille Ball, Jack Benny, et al, are and will be greatly missed.

goodbye to a funny old time comedian.there are few and far between comedians of the modern era tht are as funny as the breed of bob hope.

There's not much to be said that hasn't been already. He's an american icon who will be sorely missed, but remembered fondly.

It's sad, no one will ever be like him..and this world is going down hill with comedy..everything is sexual and cursing, ect. I miss Abott and Costello as well as Bob Hope.

In addition to them: Laurel and Hardy, Sam Levinson, George Jessel, Jackie Gleason and the Honeymooners......just to name a few more that I didn't above.

Yes, truly an era has past. but none of the others combined equal the class of Bob Hope.

I still remember a classic George Jessel story he told one night -- I believe on the Jack Benny Show:

George said he and a companion were sitting in a Chinese Restaurant eating one night and the subject turned to just how many American Jews there were. Then they started mentioning the fact that there are: German Jews, Polish Jews, Russian Jews, etc, etc.

George said, "You know, I've never heard of a Chinese Jew. I wonder if there is such a thing?"

So, motioning their waitor to come over, George asked him, "Do you have any Chinese Jews?"

"One moment, please." the waitor responded.

He left and went to the kitchen and came back after a couple minutes.

"Cook say we have Apple Juice, Grape Juice, Orange Juice, but no Chinese Juice. So, sorry."

Classic!

Actually I heard this on the news .. but got to busy to post it.
I hope he Rests in peace .. He has given a lot in his life.

I'm no stranger to long life though.
The man who runs the business where I work turned 88 June 30th.
He still drives and still works 6 days a week .. does all the book keeping .. amazing
