Judas Priest Reunites with Rob Halford

After ten years apart singer Rob Halford is finally reuniting with his old bandmates.


"Priest is reunited after many years of rumors, the big thing being the fans," Rob Halford told CNN this weekend.

Halford and Judas Priest will begin working this October on their first studio album together in over a decade. Following the end of recording, they will embark on a global tour. This reunion marks the culmination of four years work for the band's management team, who have been trying to get the band back together since 1999. (I wonder if they have dollar signs in their eyes?)

Since Halford left the band in a bad breakup in the early 90's he has put out five albums, four made in the studio and one live set. He also came out himself, announcing what most of us already guessed when we saw him dressing like the cop from the village people, that he was gay.

"I'd like to feel that everyone would recognize that Judas Priest was the first true heavy metal band," Halford said. "I think there is a special attachment to Judas Priest and metal. We were the first band to really go out and claim ourselves to be a real metal band."

Known for singles like Breakin' the Law and You've Got Another Thing Comin', Rob Halford, K.K. Downing, Glenn Tipton and Ian Hill were one of the most popular heavy metal bands to come out of England in the late 70's.
