Rebates - Do You Use Them?
In my early experience with the Rebate sales, I had several of my claims either 'lost in the mail' or denied for some ambiguous reason.
However, the last few I've used have gone through within the stated time frame without any hassle.
I'm just wondering: How many take advantage of the Rebates offered on products? Does a Rebate sway your decision on which product you get if compared to a relatively higher priced produt you'd rather have?
And, what kind of experience have you had when/if you use the Rebate offer?
Thanks!

I use rebates all the time. Especially the rebate combos that are listed on [H]ardforums. I can get tons of stuff for next to nothing.

I use rebates and have had decent luck with them. I would rather have my savings now as opposed to rebates though. It does affect my purchases as I usually debate is the rebate worth the hassle it could be.

I love rebates, the only problem I had was that Best Buy told me a rebate had been extended, only to find out it really hadn't. Oh, well...it was just for some software that I probably would have never used.

Is it just my experience, or is Best Buy one of the worst to deal with along this line? I've had too many bad experiences with them. For example:
They will publish a sale on 'limited or restricted to onhand' items to begin on a certain day. Even if you get to the store as soon as the doors open on that day, they WILL NOT have the published item. Just too often to be coincidental in my book.
