My Lottery Win
So about a month agao I changed from buying tickets in the store to paying by direct debit transfer from my account for the same numbers.
Anyhow, about half an hour I checked my emails and I received this notification:
Quote:
We have some exciting news about your National Lottery Subscription. Please click Sign In | The National Lottery and enter your username and password to view the details of your Subscription online now.
Kind regards,
National Lottery Subscriptions Team

Now I'm almost having a coronary and wondering exactly what or how much this 'exciting news' will be. So I take the link, log in to my account and check my subscription. This what it says:

My Subscriptions | The National Lottery
xxxxxxxxxx
Your prize of £10.00 has been paid to your bank/building society account.

10 stinking £s? Is that meant to be exciting? Do they want poeple to have a heart attack for £10?
So now I am £10 richer

Never EVER do that again!
Seriously, always go to the site yourself through a favourite etc, clicking links in emails and logging in is never a good idea. No matter how legit the email looks.
Oh, and congrats

You should call them up and find out if they made a mistake and were actually supposed to give you £100,000 or something, you never know, they might have made a gross miscalculation somewhere.

Nigerian lottery eh? I just wish I had like 10k for every phish I'd received for that old one. I'd be a multi-millionaire many times over.
I only got three numbers (the first 3 out of the hat). I just can't see the point of emailing someone with something supposedly exciting when it's just £10. It should quite simple say 'you have won £10 and it has been transferred into your account. End of...
Now, anything over say £500 is 'exciting' and £500 (aboout $1,000) is where the excitement level starts for me.

I never do (except this time lol). But I already saved the subscription address to my address book and images load automatically so I know it has come from the correct source.
