It does seem expensive, but it would be worth it if you could actually play with them and whack the hell out of 'em. I wonder how true the following is: (bolding added by moi.)

if no one but you have seen your post before you edited, it won't show. also, if a mod or admin edits your post, you won't see it.

If I am an admin, (who is wearing a grin ), and I edited my post before viewing
I will see not the line of an "edited by" upon reloading the page that I reference.

But if an admin Dig be, (and a silly one he), and his posted has been viewed 'fore he edited

yes, it will appear if someone else has viewed your post before you edited it.

It does the same thing for me --in my peon-like state-- so long as I'm quick about it. I think that as long as there isn't a view or a reply, that message won't appear. That's a pure guess though...

Normally, you have about 3 minutes to edit without the message appearing, and after that, it appears. Super mods and admins never have the edited by message.

Thanks Andrew, now I've got a moral dilema...should I continue to add "EDITED BITS:" to the posts where I do really stupid mistakes in or should I start to cheat?
