As gas prices soar, thieves grow more brazen
I was thinking about this today as I passed a gas station being filled up by a tanker ...
Source: MSNBC
Bobby Lee Julien, who’s driven a fuel tanker for 27 years, was near the end of his route. It was 3 a.m. when he pulled up at a stop sign off State Highway 225 in Houston.
It took only a few seconds for the masked man to rip open the passenger door, jump in and point a gun at Julien, 52.
“I begged him not to shoot me,” Julien said. “I feared for my life. The whole time he had a gun pointed at me.”
It wasn’t Julien’s life the gunman wanted that morning of May 5: “He said he wanted the truck. He wanted the fuel.”

Its reported that there has been a huge increase in people taking fuel and doing a runner from the petrol station too.
I noticed that our local Tesco have had the limit on the maximum you can put in at any one fill raised to £80 now too
Its a double edged sword for me really. I work for a large American oil company, so our share prices are at an all time high ($90.69/share) so its good for me 'cos Im in a share plan (buy one, get 2 free!!) but at £1.30 a litre of diesel, its getting rediculous tbh.

Wasn't there a big craze in america at one point where people would siphon the fuel from cars? The world's slowly going mad, that's for sure. We desperately need a cheaper and more sustainable alternative and quickly.

We need Liam Neeson to bring back the League of Shadows. He can use a machine to turn all the gas into vapor and we'll have to find a new source of fuel

lol Have you taken into account that civilisation as we know it will grind to a total halt, and we'll completely run out of electricity?

You know... they go to those lengths... and still pay $5 for a Starbucks coffee. Boggles the mind.
I simply stopped driving. I nearly had an apoplectic fit last time I filled up, and that was at $1.24/litre. Now its $1.30 a litre, give or take a cent.

well, you guys are lucky to fill up for 'just' $1.30 a litre, let's see.. that's about E0.84.
We pay about E1.60 a litre, which is almost double..$2.49 to be exact.
It's outrageous, and the prices keep rising...

My business may faulter, but i've several things to fall back on.
People are greedy materialistic bastards nowadays... if i have to close up shop so that more people get a clue, i'll be willling to.
People need to get thier priorities right.
And actually, the result in fuel prices and food prices going up, has actually improved business in my area
Less people making rediculious number of trips in excess of 100miles one way.... are now consideirng more local options more realistically..
if it gets up higher, specially fuel, people will be more likely to learn that driving at the cost of over 100 bucks for the single trip, is not worth while to save 20 bucks on whatever item they wish to get.
And now that trucking fees are skyrocketing......shipping is starting to become a concern, more efficient means are being developed, less idiots on the road overall

Is this possibly due to the fact you never consume tangible solid food?
