Iron Man
I thoroughly enjoyed it..
i'd put it on the same scale of "fun and interesting" as Transformers..
Good overall movie..
Definitely going to grab the BR-DVD of it when it's available.

I thought, though some may disagree, that the casting of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark was perfect. He reminds me of him physically, and let's face it: Stark had alcoholism problems so it's almost fated that RD Jr play him.

I agree, and am saddly still a fan of his. For all his troubles, he's a great actor.

Yeah he fit the character perfectly and the movie didn't fall into the trap of overusing the Iron Man suit which allowed the story to flesh out a bit instead. There were some other good performances in there as well, though I felt it could have used a much better villain character for the first half of the movie. I give it 2/5 which on my conservative movie scale means quite viewable with the right mindset. Also more "girlfriend friendly" than many other similar movies thanks to the presence of some real acting.

Agreed, saw it last night and there wasn't any slow scenes or weak acting, it was an all around great comic movie. Robert Downey Jr. was the best part of this movie then of course the cool gadgets and FX (which in other comic movies haven't impressed). I think people will look back at Iron Man as one of the perfect origin films and I'm looking forward to the sequel or Avengers movie

Aww shit why didn't anyone mention this? Was there a bonus scene like X3? I hope it wasn't the Samuel L. Jackson cameo I missed!

The movie was awesome. I stayed until the end of the credits and i was disappointed who played NF. NF should be way more badass.

Nuh uh, if you've read the Ultimates comic book series with the black Nick Fury you'd see he's perfect. They styled him after Sam Jackson so it's only fitting that he played the role

When I see SLJ I think of Shaft. It just doesn't fit IMO.

I'm a big fan of Iron Man, so I've been dying to go see this. If all goes well I should be watching it in...oh, two hours?
RD Jr. is a great actor as of late. I wasn't that familiar with him when I was younger, but his recent movies (Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, Charlie Bartlett etc) he's done a stellar job. He is Tony Stark, so unless he really messes up this should be good.
Almost all of my exposure to Nick Fury has been in the Ultimate world, so he has to be black.

Thanks for the heads up about Samuel L Jackson. Probably not worth the wait, but it was good to see it.

I enjoyed the movie, it was probably the best Marvel movie I've seen, but who knows how I'll feel after a second view?
