I don't know what to think about this. I use Yahoo! for over 10 years now, I would hate for many of their services to go away.

I seem to remember Microsoft suggesting they were interested in buying Nintendo, and Hiroshi Yamauchi was quoted as telling them to kiss his Japanese behind

I doubt MS will change much of what yahoo! does. By purchasing them, they now own the other portion fo the market and can compete with google on two fronts. It would be a pretty terrible choice to alienate yahoo users, and I assume that won't happen.
That is a ton of money though.
