Favorite French Fries?
They may not be the best food for you, but, if they're good, it's hard to pass them up, right?
So, which place do you prefer to get your fix on the French Fries?
For me, I'd have to say that Arby's Curly Fries are hard to beat. If I were to pick the best 'regular' French Fries, it'd have to be the ones at Captain D's. Yes, the fish food restaurant! There's something about the texture and flavor of those fries that just hit the spot for me.
And, to me, the worst fries are the ones that you get at Wendy's. Ugh! I can't even think of those without gagging!
And, if I eat at Burger King, I skip the fries altogether and go for their onion rings, instead.
So, tell us, which "poison" do you prefer?
EDIT: Added Steak N Shake (Their thin fries aren't too bad, really.)

Carls, because they are the best for fast food. Making my own is a close second.
All the rest make your farts smell like the place you bought them.
In & Out's taste like deep fried straw wrappers.

Burger King and McDonald's are the only two i have used in the past.Out of those two i'd have to choose McDonald's French Fries.
But it's very rare i'd choose to eat from either of those. For my appetite i'd need at least two meals to be partly satisfied, this would be quite expensive for what you get.

Good God. McDs fries? People, those are not French Fries anymore. They are hickory stick sized potato shavings with salt on them... LOTS of salt on them. Every year their fries get skinnier and skinnier, which is surprising since their fat content keep going up. Makes you wonder if there is even potato in those fries at all.
After a good 2 years of not eating there I decided to give them a go (I was starving, and at the time it was either them, or a salad.... ), and my God it was horrible. Next time, I'm eating the salad.

I just dont care for chips...perhaps with some vinegar..but potatos are so fattening after a dip in the oil you know.

You say that for your region but McDs, Burger King and all these other international FastFoods change recipes and ingredients depending on the area. At least in Switzerland, McDs aren't salty at all (compared to when I go to the US).
But the winner is Burger King anyways

Despite the excessive amounts of salt and the scrawny little fries which are often hard as rock there's nothing as consistent as McDonald's fries.
I live across from a McDonald's and can't even open a window without the smell of fries flooding in but I still have to give it my vote even though I don't eat there because it's garbage.

I couldn't vote as it is none of the above. The only chip (in real ENGLISH) of a good flavor, aroma and texture is home-made or is bought in a restaurant with your £30-40 dinner. There are no such thing as quality 'fries' from a fast-food shop.
Edit: Voted 'other' as I guess my preference falls within that category.

fries is fries as far as I'm concerned. course, I don't eat fast food ever, so my opinion is probably worthless
just cos it's the only place anywhere close I'll say McDs.

Of those listed, it's a toss-up between Arbys and Wendy's. Arby's for 'spiced' ones, Wendys for plain.
However, we have a local place called Rally's that will make you throw rocks at Arby's curley fries.
Micky D's just don't cut it any more, they used to be the best, but since they started making them too thin they are pitiful.
