Does sound system benchmarking software exist?
I hear people at school talking about their brand new 120 watt sony all-in-one radio, they were bragging to everyone they knew. Everyone in their group was really impressed. (Oh come on, you know people in high school split into separate groups) They were rather annoying though, so I decided to shut him up. I told him about my Harmon/Kardon 550 watt 3 channel amp and polk audio speakers, many of the people didn't even recognise the brand names. Then I get asked the question I have no good awnser to.....What does it sound like?
So I was wondering if anyone ever made a set of standerdised audio benchmarks.

Great article! Just seemed like an appropriate time to post it, for some reason.

Audiophile equipment generally doesn't have super-high power. Quality over Quantity.

Ah... Harmon/Kardon....... I still have a old 4 channel... It sounds soooo much cleaner than this new junk. IMO H/K makes some of the finest equipment that can be had... Along with Denon, Infinity (referance, and kappa series just simply RULE), and of course ... the high end JVC stuff is good... but, my favorite still swings to Marantz, and Harmon/Kardon.
