Saw 4
If you thought saw 3 was the end (and was quite poor to be honest)....think again.

Hmm. The III sucked, but maybe this one would be better.

Saw 1 was gruesome and confusing at the same time. But this all came much more clear when the sequel came out.
Saw 3 was sort of ok but also started to stretch the series a little to far. There is always a point a film should come to an end, which perhaps should be saw 3,as with the trailer for saw 4 im not impressed.
Ijust hope they don't stretch it too far.Just like the Jaws movies was.(4 & 5 was total trash).

the first saw was good, i watched 2 and got bored after 20 minutes in 3.
Im not really into these anymore, its like hostel, its just gore for the shock factor and nothing else. I prefer a horror/supernatural film like 1408 ...

I'm glad every Saw except the first one sucked. The sooner they drive this franchise (and Hostel) into the ground the better off the world will be.

I don't like scary/horror movies, it's not that i don't like being scared because it's a part of life it's the fact that in my opinion every horror movie is exactly the same, sure the plot changes but the aim is always to scare the audience and i'm bored of it.
28 weeks later, now that made me shit my pants though xD

Thats coming in tomorrow for me, 1408 looks great.
I enjoyed every bit of the saw series, 3 was a lil' lame and made me bad but i do like the gorey torture part.

I just watched a little vid on youtube with a few sections from Saw 2, especially the 1 with the woman being shoved into the pit of hypodermic syringes and i was disgusted, call me a fucking pansy if you want but that kind of thing should just never be shown... ever, that's not entertainment, it's just sick...
Now i'm gonna spark some kind of debate about movie violence and game violence aren't i? *goes to puke*

the worst IMO was the woman in hostel getting her eye gouged out. i nearly vomited when i saw that. I actually regret watching that film. extremely tasteless.

It's not really the horror element of a horror movie, or the blood that spooks me, it's the fact i detest needles, they make me cringe , i'm not scared of em, i just fucking hate the things

mmmm, hard one to call. Its a good film, nice plot line and some genuinely spine tingling moments. The ending however wasn't great (there are two endings, i prefered the directors edition as it made more sense).
Hard to give you a solid answer on that, i don't think its a classic, but after the dross ive seen this month it certainly seemed a cut above. Some good performances from Samuel L Jackson and John Cusack.

The insurgence of all these "horror" gore films reminds me of the horror explosion of the 1980's. Only difference is, they ramp up and gore and have better production values (because its cheaper to do so now). The writing and acting is still just as terrible (if not worse), and the movies all follow the same boring formula and are filled with the same B and C list actors. Its rare any horror movie that comes out of hollywood is actualy unique and interesting.
They more resemble high end snuff films than anything.

Dont watch horrors/gore films of any kind if I can, cant play scary games either. Nothing scares me more than the shit that goes on in my head. Whilst I may come across as sensible if a bit daft on here, I do suffer from graphic visions that make me fear going to sleep. Think of your worst ever dream and how it stops when you can't take anymore, my dreams reach that point then carry on, sometimes for what seems like minutes after I've woke. Luckily I have an understanding wife but it can get a bit freaky at times. Had it since childhood when my parents found me in the front garden, suffer from sleepwalking too.
I have to avoid anything really that could stick in my mind. Have mild OCD too LMAO.
Bout the scariest/goriest thing i've watched lately is Pans Labyrinth which is one of the greatest films of all time.

anytime I've been asked to recommend quality horror films the last couple years, my answer almost inevitably takes me to the far east, they've been making some quality stuff for years now
unfortunately, I still find a lot of nitwits who " just don't like.." subtitles if you're not paying enough attention to keep up with the plot just cos its written down then you might as well watch back to back greys anatomy or some such shite.

Saw (orginal) was the best, because it was different, it had a sweet twist.. and it was just outright cool..
all saw movies after are garbage and so are thier rippoffs such as hostel.....
I'm surprised they haven't started taking jackass and combining it with SAW..... allowing someone to watch someone be torn apart FOR REAL.... seriously it's the only viable next step....

There are very few movies who can get as far as number 3 in a series and still be good. Half the fun for me is a new plot twist, an original idea, you can't do the same thing three times and still expect it to be original...
Saw falls firmly under this category, loved the first one, keen to see the second in case they had done something even more innovative (they hadn't), haven't seen and not likely to see the third one
