Time to Renew... What phone to get?
What phone should I get?
Motorolla Q
Moto Q
Samsung Wafer
Wafer
Motorolla Razr
RAZR V3A
Moto RAZR 2
This is going to be around $200 w/ 2yr contract and really don't want to pay the money for it...
My thoughts/opinions. I have alltel service, and have had them for the last 6 years. I don't think I will switch as I have awesome coverage and not a bad bill. I really want a good MP3 player. My current phone only handles about 120 songs of my 1gig micro sd card... lame I know!
Moto Q - Nice PDA phone, in fact one of the cheapest. It runs Windows Mobile, so it has windows media player to play my movies. It uses Mini SD, and I am not sure on the capacity.
Wafer - Had an echo problem, seems to be worked out. The phone is small and looks sleek. It has a mp3 player, and i think capable of 2gb of micro sd. So it will hold a hella lot of songs! Its cheaper than the Q.
Razr - My last 2 phones were both flip phones, and were cool 4 years ago... now flip phonse are kind of a thing of the past. I don't want to be like everyone else and get a razr. I think they are nice, but I don't like the way motorollas are setup.
Razr2 - Awesome phone, I think it looks great and also has a touch screen for the outside screen to where you can read, delete messages and also scroll through your songs list. You can also watch movies?!
So what do you think. right now I lean towards the sleek wafer. I like windows mobile capabilities of the Q, and the razr is kinda of an all around nice phone. Id on't know but help me out!

I go with Samsung. I've never had a better phone. I love my A920 through Sprint. It's a multimedia power house.

Samsung U600 has a wickedsick camera, you can focus right into an object thanks to its auto-zoom. touch sensitive screen (which pisses me off sometimes since i keep making accidental calls). Besides that fault its a great phone!
They are bringing out a revised model of the U600 which features video calling and some other stuff if you wan't to hang around for it.

Stay away from the RAZR or KAZR if you are on a GSM (TDMA) network (up here Rogers/Fido are the big ones). A few people I know that have a RAZR or the KAZR, every one of them complain of dropped calls, bad reception, or missed calls.
What's interesting about this is that anyone I know that has one of either of these phones, and is on a network that runs on CDMA, like Bell or Telus, they don't have the same issues.

I'd look at some Sony-Ericsson phones. K series is pretty good. Just get one according to your budget and I'm sure you'll be pleased.

It has to be a CDMA Alltel branded phone. They are dicks about the whole business.
Here is the link for my available phones:

Don't get a samsung. Samsung phones are the cheapest pieces of garbage ever. I've gone through 3 samsungs (all different models) that all had similar problems. The ONLY samsung I've had that didnt crash constantly and self-reboot was the D807 but that phone had a massively quiet earpiece volume (which was not a defect but rather a "feature" according to samsung).
the Moto Q has lots of keyboard problems. so I'd say dont get that. The razr is fine. the krzr is also fine. Everyone I know has them and they're all fine. The Razr is known for superb RF reception too, so theres a plus. I refuse to buy motorolas cause I find the operating system to be kind of a piece of garbage...but if you just do phonecalls it shouldnt matter.

I take it you lot are in the U.S? Do you get Sony Ericsson out there? There is a S.E K850 coming out soon with a 5M.P cybershot camera lens that looks pretty good. That'd be a good one to go for if available to you. I've got the K800 3.2 M.P. version at the moment & it's a great phone which takes good quality photos.

D807? Then stop buying the cheaper Samsung Phones. I've had an E350, D600 and now my U600, no problems with any of them what-so-ever.

U600 isnt offered in the USA buddy.
and the d807 is considered in the US market to be more upper end. Besides I've used lots of samsungs and they all have the same problems. I'll grant you its WORSE in the low end, but even in the high end its baaad.
Now as for Sony Ericsson. Best phones I've ever used. I've never had a problem with a single SE phone. I've owned 5 now and they're all wonderful. Best OS I've used. Even better than Symbian (though some SE has some Symbian phones. never used em through)
the problem is that they really have no CDMA offerings. At least not in the USA, and you can't use them on american networks.

don't get a razr if you like to text
it's bloody horible. I suppose on the plus side though, it does encourage me talk to people more often when I get so pissed off messing with it I just give up and phone them
most peopl seem really happy the sony's these days. not had one myself yet, but got friends who have and they love em
do you guys get LG phones over there? cos they make some pretty cool stuf, generally well put together and well priced. my better half also has a Panasonic which she loves, has a button that makes it flip open like the old star trek comunicator (well I thought it was cool)
the orange SPV series (think they're called HTC over there, the smartphones from the typhoon onward) are awesome I've got/had two, brilliant phones, although the OS can lag just a little, but you forgive it that cos of how good it is
ok, done.
