They deserved to win, they outplayed Ottawa for all but maybe 2 or 3 periods of the series.

Man, the Senators sucked ass last night. I have a warm spot in my heart for Selanne, it made my night to see the team win and him finally get his chance with the cup (plus I fucking hate the Sens).
It wasn't Buffalo, but I'll take the Ducks as champions.

Here in Ottawa the entire city is depressed. I supported the Sens but after their 2 horrible god awful games I abandoned hope (ya I'm a fairweather Sens fan) but I watched last nights game and it was sad.
The Ducks played awesome this entire series (aside from the penalties they were perfect) but there's barely any fans in Anaheim so they won't appreciate it like my city would have.

Thats a good point. Other than the New England states, hockey in the US is pretty under the radar. People come out for the playoffs, but thats mostly it. That's why Buffalo should have won!
Also, I curious as to what people in Ottawa think about the behavior of the team (diving for penalties, whinning) and Alfredsson (shooting the puck at Neidermeyer). Personally, I think its disgraceful. Never seen anything like that my whole life as a hockey fan/player/referee.

Sens fans in Ottawa kinda have their heads stuck in the clouds most of the time. The rallies are shown on tv and when interviewed for their predictions I swear all of them said "Sens take the series 4-0!" then when they lost the first 2 games "Sens win the next 4!". So I'd reckon they are forgiving over Alfredsson's cheap shot and other things they did.
I support the team cause it's my hometown but I really dislike the way the Sens play: they're slow skaters, rarely ever get breakaways, can't pass or one time the puck often enough and their defense is annoyingly inept.
Of all the years this city has rallied behind the Sens it never got this big. Every car in the city was honking its horn for the entire day after Sens made the finals and won game 3, I wonder if the city will ever be able to get behind the Sens again or will fear of the mythical Sens choking in the playoffs keep people away.

Isn't Selanne the guy who bit a hockey stick at the olympics last year?

congrats the Ducks (still think its slightly wrong that one of the toughest sports on the planet was won by a team called the 'Ducks' )
game 4, getting a bit flat at 1 - 0, I decided to channel hop for a minute...
thought my eyes were playing tricks when I came back to 2 - 1 his assist for the third was when you knew it was going to go to the ducks for sure
senators weren't great last night, but over the series the Ducks definately deserved it (despite trying to gift early penalty's left and right every bloody game )
glad its over though, I get my baseball coverage back (UK baseball coverage sucks - is non-existent during stanley cup)

BASEBALL??!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?1111
Omg...Baseball is the lamest sport to watch on telly. Besides, i hate baseball because NASN shows baseball and NHL at the same time and they often decide to show baseball instead of good hockey game. NASN is the only channel i can get here to get coverage of NHL...Not much of a choice for me.

you're both wrong.
baseball is great, golf is one of the few sports the scots are any good at, but cricket is the most pointless, boring sport on the entire planet. and I include american football in that.

Off topic: MMA>All sports
On topic: I drove by the Airport a few minutes after the Sens had landed and there were cars lined up for miles, they had all come to cheer the Sens. That surprised me a bit, I guess the fans aren't as devastated over the series loss.
