Why does XM Radio suck?

My friend got XM radio a month or two ago and I was thinking about buying it until he played some of it. I was thinking it was going to be like this super high quality sond! Once he turned it on I was so disappointed becasue only a few stations sounded good and not even radio quality... Most sounded like it was coming in at like 65 k/s bit rate and just sounded really really bad!

I hope they cut a few stations and make the sound quality better because it's not even close to fm quality....

Anyone else have it and do you like it?

MrSpock2002 is an unknown quantity at this point

I enjoyed my Sirius set up. But I really hated the fee's so I ripped it out after 3 or so months of using it. I'm content with my CD player and Monsoon set up in my Regal.

The sound quality was great though if I used the Cassette Adapter. The radio tuner was a freakin joke.

I had XM but last week I bought a new radio that lets me hook up my iPod. I bought this one: http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...model=CDA-9885 This radio is Satellite ready but it costs 250 bucks for the kit. I decided to just listen to just my iPod since that is way too damn expensive. Plus I can listen to what I want. I did enjoy XM when I had it but the quality did suck. It was good since there was no commercials and they played songs that normal stations don't play. XM might merge with Sirius, maybe the quality will get better because of this. With HD signals available from some stations satellite radio will need to improve the quality. If they don't, I think they will start losing people.
