Anyone know what's up at Rage3D?
Ratchet announced he was stepping down, and now Gator and Andrew275?!?
What is up? Anyone heard anything? Ratchet and Andrew275 are just huge losses for Rage3D.
Oh, and happy New Year to y'all....hope you have a good one.

My health is great, my family is doing well, and all the animals are doing good to.
Heck, we even got a laptop this xmas!
I just figured someone here might know something. I'm getting a little of the backstory now, but I'm not really at liberty to talk about it since it's "in confidence" stuff.
Someone over at R3D said there would be an explanation at a later point, I'm waiting to hear what they have to say on the matter now.

as for the rage3d thing,
i think the last time i logged in thier was to access some information (at the time i think you had to be registered to view the forums or specific portions of it anyways? )
that was probably 2 years ago.

Got some feedback over at Elite Bastards that explained it to me, apparently some of the guys at R3D wanted to do some things and MrB never got back to them on it.
I hate it when the owner of a site turns apathetic, it just reminds me of Rage Underground all over again.
No one is going to tell anyone what is going on, so I thought I would. Unless something very serious happens soon I would unfortunately count this as the beginning of the end of R3D.
BTW-Thanks for all the happies and greets, makes me feel all tingly. It's good to be here, I'll try and post more often.

UPDATE: http://www.rage3d.com/board/showpost...3&postcount=92

I obviously can't speak for the others that have stepped down, but the reason I left was because I grew disappointed with the lack of participation by the site owners in improving Rage3D and keeping it alive.
I understand that people have priorities and lives to lead and that most people would grow bored with something like this after a few years, and that all those reasons combined would obviously affect anyone's motivation. I can understand that as I'm sure anyone can, so seeing the guys slowly fade away and grow less and less involved with the site wasn't really all that surprising.
After accepting that the owners probably would never renew their interest, I offered late last summer to buy the site. Instead of accepting my offer, they promised that things would get better and improve. Even though I had heard those promises a million times already, I decided I would stick around and see if things really did improve. To that end I privately set a deadline of Jan.1, 2007. If things didn't improve by then, I would step down.
It took me a couple days to finally let go, but there it is, and there you go.
I don't know what will become of Rage3D now, but hopefully things will continue on. Hell, maybe without my stupid ass calling most of the shots things might get even better. How fitting that would be!
Anyway, some of you might have noticed that I've been an Admin at Beyond3D.com for awhile. There's a great team there, and they are all very motivated and I'm honored to say that, even though I bring down the average intelligence level considerably, they've accepted me and that I'll be helping out there however I can. That's where you'll likely find me from now on.
Cheers, and thanks for all the kind words!

You seem to have a few here, I think I remember you. You joined just a bit before I left as I recall.
Word on the street is R3D might be closing down, soon.
