The Number ONE PC Event According to PC Format Magazine
I discovered PC Format Magazine about a year or so ago. Since then, I won't miss a copy if I can help it.
In the August, 2006 issue, there's an article that lists 65 of the greatest PC Moments of the past few decades. If you haven't read the article, what would you say would be the NUMBER ONE PC Moment? Well, according to PC Format it's...... drum roll, please....... ......... (Still haven't figured it out? ![]() ......... GOOGLE! (See, and, like I said before, I thought everyone knew about GOOGLE! )

these guys are on crack....depending on how far back they're trying to reach.
Google is great....but I can think of several more important advents, albeit some are older. many languages have cropped up, like PHP and DHTML and XML....but XML and PHP stick out most. Java changed the PC world forever when it came out and said "hey b*tche$, I don't care what OS ya got"

The article was actually quite interesting. It was like a walk down memory lane. But, yes, I was quite shocked when I got to the NUMBER 1 PC Moment and found they had chosen GOOGLE.
At any rate, I've come a long way since my C= VIC 20. ![]() http://oldcomputers.net/vic20.html

my computing days began with an Apple IIe and the game "Marble Madness"...then there was a packard bell running windows 3.11 for work groups with games such as SkiFree, Rodent's Revenge, Falcon [the original], Tie Fighter [8 floppy discs + boot disc], and Mega Race.
Then....an HP Pavillion the week the Pentium II was launched, and right as DVD was coming to be, but we passed on the DVD ROM as it was a $400 extra option
