Mister Rogers Passed Away
Former host of PBS' "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" for over 30 years, Fred Rogers passed away today after a short bout with stomach cancer. His show was a soothing --if a bit soporific-- children's show; anyone privileged enough to have experienced this bit of American culture no doubt had a reverence for this soft-spoken man. He was 74.
He will be missed.

End of an ERA
During our deployments, after you have seen FULL METAL JACKET, TERMINATOR, & THE ROCKY movies, it was nice to surface off the coast and catch Mr. Rodgers before CNN updated. It calmed the crew down and his mannerisms brought a great deal of humour when tempers flared and everyone was on each others last nerve. I enjoyed his particuler style of speaking if anything, and Lady Aberlane even looked good. Fred Rodgers was a nerve tonic if anything else and he will be missed by generations of his loyal fans......It was nice to be in your nieghborhood for a little while....good by Fred, God bless you, ...wherever you are...

Even though it wasnt my favorite show as a kid(kinda boring at times). I can really miss the simplicity of the show and the man. It was a show based on simple values and principles not digital monsters and some of the other lame crap ideas they have as shows on for todays kids. Except Spongebob

I used to watch his show when I was very little (even when I used to live in Pakistan). I used to love his show. It's sad to think that my little brother isn't going to grow up watchin it like I did .
