I don't think I'll ever buy from Apple again.
So I got my macbook at the end of June I think. Yea thats right...anyway after 2 weeks it did tons of random crashing. I took it in and they replaced the logic board. Things were fine for awhile and then BAM it starts up again. The computer just shuts off randomly. No error message. No overheating. And theres no indication of what it could be in the error log.
Now I logged everything, wrote down what happened, and brought it in RIGHT after it crashed this morning. They looked it over and the apple care guy asked me to reproduce it.
well DUH I cant.
I was informed that unless I can reproduce it, he refuses to send it in for repair. He said "look we'll have to keep sending it back and forth and errors will pop up and you'll be out a computer for a long time" so I asked for a replacement because on the apple forums I was informed that I should demand a replacement. This was by apple forum moderators mind you..
so I suggested a replacement. Appearently they only do replacement if the crashes show up in the first two weeks (which they did...the first time around)
so now im pissed. This computer is mission critical for work and this is totally lame.
With each passing day it is more and more unlikely that I will ever purchase an apple computer again. I can understand early adopters getting some defects (though the level of defects in apple laptops right now is hardly acceptable) but those defects were suppose to be okay because of the good customer service. Now I'm getting crap from a guy who has less education than me (hes actually a junior in my department at the university). This sucks..who designed this crap anyway?

Man, I wish we still had the extra choices, the so called Home Computers of the 80s and early 90s. Apple is the closest we have but still not the same. ^^
I wish like several multi billioners would come together to form a company for a new system not based on unix/linux, Mac, Windows. I guess we have that chance as much as we have Atari building ST comptuers again
