It's so HOT.....

Reading about the heat wave that has hit even normally cool England, I dug up this old Top Ten from a couple years ago:

One bit of news is that some roads in northern England are actually MELTING and sticking to the tires of cars. The road crews were throwing gravel on the roads in an effort to make things better.

Here's the list:

From Summer, 2004:
Top Ten Signs It's Too Damn Hot

10. It's so hot, Tom Ridge had raised the terror alert to "Sticky"

9. It's so hot, drug dealers are selling something called "Iced Crackuccino"

8. It's so hot, Michael Moore's making a new movie, "Fahrenheit 98 and Humid"

7. It's so hot, Randy Johnson is demanding a trade to Montreal

6. It's so hot, Jennifer Lopez just got engaged to Mister Softee

5. It's so hot, delicious hot pockets are now simply referred to as "pockets"

4. It's so hot, Martha Stewart just got an inside tip on air conditioners

3. It's so hot, even Ralph Nader's campaign is showing traces of heat

2. It's so hot, Courtney Love has an excuse for being disoriented and unintelligible

1. It's so hot, hookers are charging 50 dollars just to blow on you

Anyone got some new ones???

no new ones, too hot to think

Jesus man, it regularly hits minus °C here most of the year round, and I rarely ever wear anything other than a sleeve-less T (and trousers obviously), so I'm fucking dying here.
we hit 30°C here the other day, and I was still dying with all windows in the car down, air con on full etc, driving 75/80ish

my cats aren't liking it much either

It's really hot here in BC. This weekend it's going to be anywhere from 36-40C. And the worst part is that it doesn't cool off that much at night

We here in Atlanta, GA are used to some really hot weather in July. Even so, though, we're in a RED ALERT for today. Temperatures are/were expected to hit the upper 90s F. With humidity, the 'real feel' temp is supposed to be more like 108 F.

I've been doing some car maintenance the last two days and have had to wait until evening because the tools become too hot to pick up. They nearly blistered my fingers two days ago.

Now I know why we're called 'shade tree mechanics' and not 'sunshine mechanics'.

It's been pretty hot here in NJ.. one day it felt like 105°F

I don't care much though--I work a lot, and a lot of the time my job is doing something in the freezer, where it must be kept between like, -5°F and -8°F

Sad

I live in Northridge, CA & I just saw an excessive heat warning for Fri and Sat. Supposed to be anywhere from 105F (40c) to 110F (44c) maybe hotter. Man it's going to be fun tomorrow at work. Oh, did I mention that all 4 AC units aren't working either? Today it's must of been about 90+ in the building. That's always fun going up and down ladders all day.

The heat helps you lose fat, maybe we should consider ourselves lucky to work in such heat.

It actually cooled down here yesterday. It was pretty hot for a while, and likely will be again soon. Luckily the only time I am outside is usually the 5 minute walk to my lab in the morning and the 5 minute walk back in the evining. Everywhere else I go is air conditioned or I can go at night.
