FCC Regulations Override Homeowner Association Covenants

A topic of discussion came up locally about how, with the advent of HDTV, some homeowner association rules and covenants prohibit the installation of antennas and satellite dishes within the complex/subdivision.

However, U.S. Federal regulations override any such restrictions except as they apply to 'common property' that's maintained through fees collected from all homeowners and is considered to be publicly held property.

In simple terms: As long as the antenna/satellite dish meets the size limitations, one can have it installed anywhere on their private property/premises.
