on the other hand though, i finally got around to installing BF2 again along w/the 1.22 patch or whatever the newest one is and played for about an hour just now.

We ran into this a few years ago when I had my big accident driving my son's Ford Ranger. One company wanted to say the odometer had another 100,000 miles on it and our own company wouldn't buy that. The difference was getting a little more than was owed on the car or paying a difference of about $1600 to the bank. So, CDs: Be sure you don't jump into this until you know all the options.

. Gap insurance is purchased at the momment you are buying a vehicle from the dealer. Basically what it does is that if your car is totalled, the insurance company will only pay the blue book value of the vehicle, and gap insurance will cover the remaining difference. So i need not worry about it .

here in cali, it's different. for sure if the frame is damaged it's totalled. however, if the frame is not damaged, but the amount of damage done to the car exceeds 70% of the vehicle's blue book value then it is still considered a total loss to the vehicle.

here in washington it has to be 100% of the bluebook value. I think our van was with like $1600 and the insurrance paid out $1500 but didnt declare it totaled.

no, they're not going to replace it, they're paying off the remaining balance on the loan.

Gap insurance typically runs about $4-600 as a one time payment when you purchase a new vehicle...and it's worth every penny.
As for totalling it, what they do is have it appraised if they are unsure, but if the adjuster is sure [frame damage is almsot always a totalling], then it's totalled on the spot....you can, however, request an appraisal, and even a second opinion on that PS - if ya want a car, come see me...I work for Ford now
