Red Hot Chilli Peppers
I have to admit ive never been a chilli fan tbh, but ive admired some of their musicanship in the past from the distance.
My mate had downloaded their new / forthcoming album today (well it isnt out yet in the UK, might be in the states), and it was on the background while we were chatting.
I gotta say it really is pretty good, with their own unique funky pop rock sound. Flea is a damn fine bassist too, even if he is a tool.

i've only enjoyed maybe one.. possibly 2 of thier songs.... but even though i don't like majority of the rest of the stuff at all.... i still think they do very well....
i think it's just there "sound" they have... it's unique yes.... but not my tastes.

they are unique yeah, ive never been a fan either, but i always kind of admired their playing and uniqueness from a "distance", I was a metalhead as a kid but since ive gotten older my tastes are really wide now.
Its a really impressive double album IMO, a few duff tracks and some I dont personally like but overall I think its brilliant. catchy, fun, a good vibe from the melodies and some great musicanship. Give it a shot guys - tell me im wrong

they've been really big in the uk forever too, but I still think that they make dull monotonous shite music.
I liked under the bridge for the guitar work, everything else bores me silly.
you want unique music go buy the Mars Volta's albums

Nah, they have been pretty big everywhere for years, im not just catching onto them, just listening to their new album instead of laughing at the singer prancing around half naked in some weird costume
they certainly wouldnt be in my top 10 bands of all time, but its nice to hear people able to play instruments in 2006, far too much electronic music around atm.

They are really great live, very satirical in nature, they really poke fun at the industry..LOL
I remember listening to the Chili Peppers at general quarters off the coast of Kuwait in 91, they just had the Angst and the edge to make them interesting then.

As a bass player, I admit that Flea is one of my idols! The riff he plays and all the sounds he can make with his bass are like : WOW!!! Im not a BIG fan but I know a 6-7 songs on my bass and play them often! Like : By the way, Give it away, Cant stop and the new one Danni California! Really good songs, Im going to buy the new (2disc) LP.
