college, i got nothing seeing as i dont go.
senior year of HS though, i had all the credits i needed to graduate by the end of the first semester. i was always of the opinion, get all your shit out of the way first and then take it easy for the last year, which worked out pretty damn well....
getting back to the point, i had all the credits i needed to graduate by the time the 1st semester of my senior year was done. my school had early graduation for the last 20 some years. simply put, all your credits done by the end of the first semester of your senior year, and you were done with school. you came back in may to graduate with the rest of your class and that was it.
well... the school board decided to be a real bitch that year and pulled the plug on early graduation my senior year. i got to dick around for 5 months in BS classes that i couldnt care less about.
given the posistion i was in, my near perfect attendence record, and my lack of running into trouble. (just kept that very well hidden) they cut me a deal. school normaly started at 7:15 and was out at 2:15. i didnt need to show up until 8:30, and was out at 1:25. in the 4 (class) hours i was to be at school, i was able to take classes with teachers that knew what kind of posistion i was in and were sympathetic of it. needless to say, aslong as showed up to class and did what little work there was, they would leave me alone and go easy on me. easy enough that i walked into my first class atleast 10-15 mins late every single day, and notes just for my self were left if the class left the room early in the morning and where they could be found.
while it most definatly isnt all bad, i still had to wake up at the ass crack of dawn 5 days a week to go to BS classes that i shouldnt have had to go to in the first place if the school board didnt screw me over.

My senior design project got a 95, and I got an 87 on the software engineering exam, but I didn't do too well on my interview and I used my notebook mostly for scratching out implementation details so I got a B in that class. I learned not to undersell myself, this project wouldn't have gotten as far as it did without me.
Here's some screenshots, we'll be releasing a demo soon and I'll let you guys know:

you guys did well though lol. but here's my long story
my journey to uni began in 11 th grade, some of you know i have pretty bad irritable bowel syndrome. its gotten better, it started in 11th grade around this time of year in 2003. I was away for weeks and weeks and was failing math. other courses were ok but to show i was away i gave them hospital notes and doctors notes. the VP accepted them and i also missed my math exam. when my mark came i got a 28, 35 was minimum for summer school. I went wtf, talked to the VP and ask her "what? my hospital notes aren't any good?". basically my math teacher was holding the exam against me. she spoke to the teacher she said i missed too many tests but I did the work. she would not bump me to 35 for summer school. I asked are there any alternatives, my VP said NOPE. I said fuck this and left, decided to goto a semester school so I can redo math one semester and do calculus the second. I came back a few days later to speak to guidance about transferring and they asked me why I wanted to, I told them what my VP told me that I have no choice but to repeat. Then they told me "you can go to the catholic school board to upgrade." I went "REALLY? why wasn't I told this. She said "only in emergency situations we tell students." " what mine wasn't an emergency?" and she replies it was and the VP should of told me. I got my mark done up, got out of the school next september.
then at the new school the next year in 2004, at about easter weekend I had the same problem, but I felt worse this time. I was close to getting into university also had the marks coming along. I went to school for 2 days within a 2 month time period, went to doctor to doctor to doctor with arguments and stress. too keep myself sane, I became a heavy poster on the forums and newsposter and did the ut2004 review if you guys remember. I dropped out of school ti get better took some time, worked out hard got a job and then my family and I moved to the suburbs. school went well in another new highschool for 1 semester, but I constantly was getting sick from my IBS.
then I got sick one more and with the flu pretty bad. screwed my data mgmt/stats mark up. I was above the mark I needed before midterm, I started getting sick and the teacher penalized me after I did every test and passed the majority of it. In addition got a fat 80 on the final project. I ended up with a 50 and she wouldnt bump me. so I had to go with a friend to hunt for a summer school around the city. took me a few weeks and i got my mark. then my home school closed, so I couldnt transfer the mark. I missed the deadline for the mark submission and had to talk the university in letting me submit it later since the school was closed. I got it in barely and I was on my way.
last semester my head has been messed up and haven't been able to do my work well, might fail 2 classes which is a record for me. this is why i might get booted from school. then I am royally screwed, let alone probabation is pretty ugly to explain at home and to get out of.

don't get be started on school..
School = Useless for anyone that has a brain.
What they teach as school... isn't really of major use today for just about anyone.. they don't teach you things that you NEED to know. They don't want you to be self sufficient generally (they want you to emediately get out of high school and right into 2ndary education so you can keep feeding the education systems)... They teach you to be a robot, don't think for yourself, to question any authority...
If i didn't know better, i could easily say that school today is similare to that of a dictatorship. Do as your told, not as i do. Don't speak to me or question me at all, or any authority. Etc.
You so much as ask a question after a "authority" has made a decision, and your considered to be "talking back" ... BS.
i won't jump any deeper into it.

tell society that, 90% of us are nothing in the real working world without a proper education. i dont count entertainers in that world, they do work but its a different world.

that's the thing...
most people in school are forced away from learning or doing anything that strikes there interest inless it's just general labour, which schools are loving if they can get you to do it. You must have the salemens in stores, the cheffs in burger kings, the janitors.. etc. you should get my point that without the lower income workers, everyone else is pretty screwed no?
gotta keep filling in the gaps.. and if someone gets outa school, and they have no drive or no real knowledge of REALLY what they want to do, and how they can do it.... and so forth, they typically just line right up with 90% of the crowd out there working a job they typically don't like at all, or working a job that is somewhat associated with what they like to do, but are just inches away from actually doing it.
How many people do you know that actually are LOVING working? Love getting up for work and hell, even working overtime... just cause they enjoy it? How many people do you know that are doing EXACTLY what they always wanted, true enjoying it.
I betcha 90% out there think work is the worst thing next to hell... IF NOT ... hell itself.. why? because of all the things school has taught them, how they were brain washed into thinking they needed to go to 2ndary education emediately. Hell i betcha that at least half of the people that went to 2ndary, ended up flunking or quitting out and still paying off there bill. Or those that have passed, have still got one nasty bill to pay off yet. Slaving away...
Only a few get to either bypass it completely because they were forceful in ignoreing the useless work or some of the teaching and working more on figureing out what they could true do best and still enjoy every aspect of it.
It's a hit and miss as well, i won't deny it. But if school wasn't so determined to mine out the souls of people, i'm sure more people would have time and know exactly what they had internest and joys in doing.
BTW, a certificate is overrated, but due to legal reason, needed in most large populated areas. Or around people that are sue frenzied. (imo, assholes).... Theres alot of people out there with a certificates that don't know jack shit. Theres book smarts, then theres Street Smarts, and then theres a bit of both when it comes to someones area of true talented expertise.

I have to admit, I consider myself lucky that I know exactly what I want to do and I'm doing it. There are a lot of people who hit the end of high school and have no idea what they want to do.

yes you can have it, school generally tries to prove and slap you in the face a few times to convince you that it's not possible.
anything is possible, you can do whatever the hell you want within reason.

I don't see that as a problem though. I'm starting university next year, and have no idea what I want to do, only some things I'm sure that I don't want to do.
I just plan on having fun... if by the end of my second year, I still have no idea what I want to do, then I might have a problem.
