Anyone ever tried to use Ether to clean Computers?
Non corosive, doesn't appear to damage anything.. works about a billion times faster and better then straight rubbing alochol and evaporates within seconds..
Just to see what it would do i tried it on a computer i had here that was heavily smoked around.. (so it's a nasty greecy mess and just plain dirty)..
Spary it directly onto it and took a cotton swap and cleans it up like brand new.... no scrubbing really.... even better for taking off thermal paste... doesn't even leave a residue like most thermal pastes would leave if removing with anything else...
I don't think i'll be using it anytime soon on newer machines or anything... but the machine is up and running.....

aside from the fact that ether is MADE for jump starting large machineery.... i figured this would be common sense..
Alot of truckers use it to clean there rims or anything that is chrome.... excellent cleaner in that sense...

Ether is what they used to put me to sleep for my tonsillectomy. I STILL remember the horrible odor of that stuff.....and that was over 50 YEARS ago. LOL!
I think I'll just use denatured alcohol.

Since I started to PC tech support over the phone, I have found that only 10% of the world possesses common sense. The rest of them are idiots.

I've only used ether to recharge magic points. You mean it's a cleaning agent too???!

I don't choose what's in my cabinets...that's up to the roommates...I just find non-drinking uses for whatever they don't drink...like cooking, making sauces [BBQ, etc], cleaning keyboards, etc
