14+Mb connection for me again! (wireless)
Since moving these were my choices for internet:
Wired:
All provied by Sasktel (Only ISP)
Dialup (average connection was 46kb) for 180 hours and $34.95 / month
Highspeed Basic with unlimited time access, speeds 256kb/32kb up for 24.95 / month (max download is i think 2.5gb also)
Highspeed with unlimited Time acces, speeds 1.5mb/128kb up for 44.95 / month (max download up to 5gb)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then theres wireless
Sasktel ~ Wireless 2mb down and 128kb up unlimited time access and 59.95 / month (max downloads up to 5gb)
And then theres what i got...
Yourlink ~ Wireless 3.5mb Down and 1mb up unlimited time access and 44.95 /month
(Max Downloads up to 5gb)
However i got a slick deal, getting between 3.5-7mb down and 1mb to 1.5mb up, and the price i'm paying is unmentionable....
Heres the kicker, i've a twin wan router (which i love) ...
Xincom 502
And talking with yourlink, i'm now "pimping" there speeds and there much lower cost.
And now, i get a 2nd connection rated the same speeds brought in for a load balanced 7mb-14mb down and 2-3mb upload via wireless.
I'm having very good luck so far....
Why do you keep hiding the prices you pay for things? Its not like were all going to call up every company saying "JUDAS GOT IT FOR $XX I WANT IT FOR $XX TOO" Just knowing you get things for wicked cheap makes some of us jeolous, I know your probibly not tryign to but it seems like you rub it in our face when you say it like that.
no... because i'm technically not saposed to be letting the world know about some of the things i'm getting..
for free.....
I'm just happy i got dual wireless and cranking out a very very very nice download and upload rate..
Not to mention i'm in a town of roughly 300 people tops.... 100 miles away from the nearest city of any sort of population worth mentioning....
extremely high speeds in the cities for nearly nothing
extremely high speeds for a reasonable price out in the country
And soon as i get fully setup..... sweetly priced pc parts in good supply
No no..
Seriously, the cost of living out here is exceptionally low....
Anywhere else the cost living is anywhere from 2-10 times higher....
Some people are shocked at what i pay per month for food, a place to sleep and keep my car going.... some people have said that my entire months expenses is half of thier rent alone....
I hear you...that's one reason i want to get out of the city, and i don't pay that much to live each month (all expenses and food combined is about 1100/month). I just have to find a job, a town, and some kind of cool isp like that...*nudge nudge*
whats with that "5gb per month" thing. You can only download 5gb per month?!?!? what good is that?! My house downloads nearly 100gb per month.
it's a thing that we kinda get screwed over at out here...
5gb per month maximum.. course there is a bit a leeway....
You can upgrade to the next package the increases both the speeds and the max.. but it's a hefty price....
Up in the city, there are usually 50gb caps on the lower bandwidth connections.... and nearly pretty well uncapped for the highspeed users...
But since i've some ties with yourlink.. i'm pretty sure i can push and crunch some serious numbers... without raising to much concern..
And with 2 connections, a typical users cap is raised from 5gb to 10+ anyways...
in the city even on my uber connection, i rarely ever went over 30gb a month.. and thats with me hosting a few servers and downloading various things not to mention uploading...
faster speeds just mean you hit the cap faster
and twin load balancing WAN on wireless is a joke, since you get some heavy clud cover and it balances dual 7 megabit lines to a whopping flatline nothing. I'd opt for the fastest landline as wireless sucks, unless it's off a cell phone signal and not satellite, and those plans run from $50 a month for VERY low cap/slow to around $85-100 a month for 1.5MB/sec unlimited data.
mind you my assuption of "wireless" is based on the wireless we have here, which is based off satellite TV signals, like DirecTV...yours may be better, but for that price...I kinda doubt it, especially as small towns and cell towers seldom are in the same place.
Sounds like yer havin fun up there tho...glad things are looking up
These are towers similare to that of cell towers all over the place.. @ a 2.4ghz frequency...
Each tower has it's own pipe to headquarters which is pumped through a few massive backbones..
All tech being used is Motorolla, imo, best damn quality stuff i've ever seen
And for the loading..
The wireless even when it's extremely busy doesn't get slowed down at all.... I can sustain a solid 3mb down and 1mb up at all times through the days...
I'm roughly 1000 feet away from the tower  which means i've uber connection....
I'm on my imaginary laptop right now, they have horrible internet in my cell. I guess I better make believe some better intraweb
Yeah, one thread would be nice Judas. I understand your excited and stuff but I think we got the point you get stuff for cheap, have a business, and like messing around with your comps...
Maybe you should just do like a Judas Update thread, that way when ever you can't contain urself you post it in there.
Congrats though on the cheap stuff, more money for whiskey
