good journalism?
I was just about to head out and I was browsing over the front page of Hardocp and I saw this posting by Steve.

Part two of this Radeon 9500 Pro review is online. The fellas delve into overclocking and BIOS flashing and what it felt like to flash the video BIOS for the first time:
Thankfully, it was like having sex for the first time; over before you know it's done, no one gets hurt, and you feel just a lil different than you did going into the whole thing.
Yeah, but who slept in the wet spot?

now dont call me old fashioned, but is there really any need for this on a tech site?

Wellllll... it gets them hits, given the large amounts of sex-starved geeks googling for "sex" "first time" "and "wet"

Ah, I see where you're coming from with this Zardon, makes sense... I mean, if they really wanted to be professional about things, they wouldn't post crap like that, but I don't think theres really anything to do about it except not imitate them

well I dont know, i would class myself as a fun guy, I just think sometimes you have to watch out for younger people on the net. and I think to go into those descriptions on the front page of a massive site such as that is just in a little bad taste.
I dont really have alot of respect for that site in general. I mean its massive, they do some great reviews, but .......
anyway ill shut up now, its not my style. I have been quite disappointed lately in some of their editorial content and what they did to board members who have been supporting them for years.
Golden rule No1: a site is nothing without showing respect for the people who go to it. and frankly I think people who buy tech or are interested in it, dont need that sort of analogy. I find it vaguely amusing in an embarassing kind of way but yet insulting to my intelligence.
