Just got a new 6600GT.. Problems with the filtering?

Hey all,

Was happy to finally get a new video card (moving up from a Radeon 9500 Pro), but so far I am not too happy, as I've had some graphical issues with several games (the most notibly being America's Army).

When I first loaded up America's Army, the issue was immediately present. In darker areas of any map, you could clearly see the mip/filtering transistions along the floors/walls... It's as if there is no filtering being applied at all. Now, it's not the ugly bilinear transistions, it is clearly defined transistions... This was not an issue with the 9500 Pro.

I unfortunately cannot get a good screen of this, as it is hard to capture this in a still shot, and is only appearent (VERY apparent) while moving. I would have to capture a brief movie and host it.

I've tried a dozen drivers, none solve the issue. I've tried every possible filtering setting in the Nvidia Control panel as well..

Here is all my relevent hardware..

Athlon XP Mobile 2500+ (@ 2468mhz)
Albatron KX18D (NForce2, @ 235 FSB)
OZC 512mb PC3200 Platinum (@ DDR 470)
Chaintech 6600GT (at default settings, driver currently 71.25)
Win XP SP1

Hey all,

Well, I actually switched out the 6600GT for another brand new one, and I STILL get the filtering problem, especially in America's Army...

It appears as though the mipmapping is on nearest point. This looks rather ugly, and is especially noticable in dark(er) areas. Forcing any AF doesn't help. All Nvidia optimizations are turned off.

Note: This problem is NOT exihibited on a Radeon 9500 pro, but has been a problem on two different 6600GT's. I can only assume this is a Nvidia problem

Yeah, I've tried several, going back to the first driver set to support the 6600GT. None of them solve the problem. It's really wierd.
