Which brand of 6800 Ultra?

My 9800xt died, no OC'ing no heat probelms it just died so I'm buying a 6800 Ultra and want to understand the difference between the brands.

found a very competitive price on the BFG and Gainwood cards but not knowing the difference between them it's hard to choose.

my short list is

BFG 6800Ultra OC
XFX 6800 Ultra
Gainwood 6800 Ultra "golden sample"
Asus v9999 6800 Ultra

Does the BFG require extra cooling, or would they all benifit from extra cooling?

Cheers
Nez

All of these brands are high quality products, however I would lean towards BFG or eVGA. All of these brands would benfit from extra cooling, especially if you plan to overclock the card. If you are going to overclock the card, I suggest you invest in an Arctic Cooling NVSilencer or Zalman VF700-Cu VGA Cooler.I use the Zalman VF700-Cu VGA Cooler on my 6800GT and it overclocks like it never could on stock cooling Make sure you have a beefy power supply to give the card the juice it needs. You should look for a PSU that supplies 480 Watts (more is better), and has a +12v rails that runs at 30+ Amps. Cheaping out on a PSU could result in stability issues as well as damaging your computer's components, so be wise and squeeze out a few extra bucks on a quality PSU.

BFG. Nicely made cards. Great tech support. Lifetime Warranty.

Enough said.

No complaints really. Few issues with their motherboards, however their video cards seem to be pretty good. Not the best, but more like 'average', or middle of the road to bottom of the high quality. Not bad for a company that has only been making mobos/video cards for 3 years.

I have an XFX board, and no complaints here.

Also, Asus boards tend to be quite expensive
