How do LCD screens age?

I know, this forum is about NVidia cards but I couldn't find any place to talk about monitors? Since I have a NVidia, I decided to poste here. That is always a better place than audio or political forums and I assume that video card owners have monitors .
Anyway, here is my question. I just purchased a LCD monitor after beeing tired with my old CRT that used to be good a few years ago. But like all CRTs, it became blurry, pale (dramatic lack of contrast despite maximum settings), was slow to warm up and I also had to constantly tweak settings (image position and size). It was basically almost dead.
Now that I have this nice LCD monitor on my desk I wonder how it will age cos it was damned expensive. Should I expect it to be like my old CRT in a few years? Will I have more dead pixels, blurry image, lack of contrast?
Haven't see anybody talking about LCD monitor life though this is not really a new technology.
