i LOVE this card! (5700 ultra)

so i decided to go on a limb and OC this baby more since ive had my Zalman for a while and never seem my temps rise outta the 40's lol
so i clockked my cpu @ 3.25ghz from 2.6, memorys @ 800 and FSB is a 1000, and pushed the GPU from "auto oc" @ 515 from 475 (which is 50 over the Non-ultra card..) to 550
WOW
with the Dhzero drivers + this OC i get 38fps in CS:S stress test, up from 29.xx with the 76 beta drivers + 515 oc, and this is @ 1680x1050 + 1280x1024 :O dddaaammnn

Thumbs Up!

I too have an EVGA 5700 Ultra and I am amazed at how well this card holds up.

I've been thinking of getting a 6600AGP since they are only $130 for an ASUS at Pricewatch. But the 5700U just keeps on ticking. With the speed boost mods I can get Doom3 to run at 20-30fps @ 1600x1200 on High Detail and I'm still using the old drivers the card came with back when I paid $210 for it at Best Buy.
(And I only have an AthlonXP1900(1.6Ghz)

I'm going to test out the Omega, DHzerOpoint, and the XG drivers to try and get some performance increase for playing A.I. Girl 2. (Although it looks like I just need a faster CPU)

I currently have the card overclocked at 510/965 and the temps stay around 70-80 degrees with a dying fan. And I don't even have the GDDR3 memory in it.

So yeah, I agree, the 5700Ultra's were great cards. ATM, they really aren't worth purchasing since you can get a 6600 for about the same price. But I recomend them to anyone that finds a sub$100 deal on them. They rock!!!

It seems my stock fan on the 5700Ultra has been dead for a while. I replaced it with an elcheapo I stripped off another card. (No telling how long it will last). I also noticed some of the screws were a little loose on the heatsinks so I hand tightened them a little. My temps dropped about 30+ degrees after doing all this.

I"ll say this, the Nvidia 5700 Ultra's are incredible!
I have the DHzerOpoint 7189 drivers and I'm overclocked something fierce!!!

From 475/905 to 525/1000 and still staying under 65 degrees when running games.
I can't imagine what a good cooling system would do for this card.
And to prove I'm not making this up Madshrimps took theirs to 580/1080.
http://www.madshrimps.be/printart.php?articID=129

And there was another place on the net where one was clocked at 612/1200 and passed every benchmark with no artifacts.

I'd say, if I had a nice cooling unit on this thing I could probably pull off 600/1200.
I just need to get rid of that 1.6Ghz AMD CPU and replace it with something better. Only problem is my Motherboard will only go up to an AMD XP 3000 which is only about 2.1Ghz.
