Taking the plunge

I have decided to upgrade my Radeon 9800 Pro to a BFG Geforce 6600GT OC.

Why?? Well from what I saw over at THG the 6600GT has about twice the performance of the 9800 Pro. My main reason for this move is because ATI is lacking with their linux package.

I like to try out various versions of linux, but every time I can't get the ATI driver to work properly. I want to use Ubuntu, but for the life of me I can't get the ATI kernel module to build. So with that said I ordered my Nvidia card this morning. I put a rusn on it (2nd Day Shipping) So I should have it on my off day's this week to do some testing.

No, I won't totally get rid of the ATI card as it will more than likely go into my test linux box. This way I can continue to evaluate the state of the ATI linux drivers and once they are ready I may purchase another ATI card.

Well, enough rambling.

Any thoughts or experiences anyone would like to share about this card?
